Heritage Home Collection

After over a year in the making, we are thrilled to announce that our Heritage Home Collection has arrived!
The Heritage Home Collection is a thoughtfully curated, five-piece pattern collection, designed for you and your home. The collection is a collaboration between knitting friends Jill Zielinski (@Knitterella) and Dori Kershner (@florydori). All pieces are knit and designed in our signature North Bay Fiber Heritage yarn.

Our beloved Heritage yarn is light and lofty, and each pattern perfectly highlights its attributes. From a cozy cardigan perfect for layering to beautiful pillows for your home, each piece is sure to become a treasure.

Without further ado, let us introduce you to the Collection...
We took the Angler shawl and mirrored it to create a blanket! Worked from the center out with wide garter stripes, this simple piece makes a grand statement. Our colors are inspired by the iconic Hudson Bay Blanket, but the blanket would be just as beautiful in a solid. This woolly blanket will be an heirloom for years to come.
W orked entirely in one piece, the Angler Pillow will add a pop of color and texture to your favorite room! The front panel is a large mitered square. Mitered triangles are then picked up and knit, creating easy access for your pillow insert! With 3 different sizes, we know you’ll enjoy working up a set for your bed or sofa. For an extra treat, knit the companion Master Angler blanket to match!
O uter Bay is a classic color-blocked raglan cardigan, and is the perfect addition to your wardrobe. Knit in the lofty Heritage yarn, this cardigan gives you all the warmth without the weight! The Raglan yoke provides a flattering fit across all sizes and the ribbed placket hugs your neck with short row shaping, creating a gorgeous fold-over collar. Afterthought pockets are a charming accent to this top-down, cool weather staple! 
Named after the Saginaw Bay, twisted cables flow in and out, creating an intricate yet surprisingly intuitive design. All odd rounds are simple knits and purls, and all cables are performed without the use of a cable needle. The stitch pattern is easily memorized. All these elements make for a fun and engaging project that you’ll want to return to time and time again, each time you redecorate. Choose from a square or lumbar shape, or knit both styles and you’ll have a beautiful set to accent your bed or sofa!
Wool socks are a knitter’s wardrobe staple and this cozy pair doesn’t disappoint! With a thicker DK weight yarn and simple twisted stitch pattern, the Heritage Socks are a perfect first sock for newer knitters or also a nice quick, mindless project for our experts. They are lightweight but will keep you warm during the cold Winter months. The simple pattern and lofty Heritage will fly off your needles. We are SO excited to reveal this year's Limited Edition Winter Hat Kit!

The Winter Hat Kit Update will go live in our online shop this Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00pm Eastern

This year's featured pattern is the upcoming pattern called Snowy Stripes by Jill Zielinski (aka Knitterella).


Tiny snowflake motifs overlay bold stripes making for a cute hat that is both fun to wear and quick to knit. Designed in North Bay Fiber Heritage, and written for 4 sizes, this wooly hat is the perfect hat for yourself or to gift. It's a simple yet eye-catching design to wear throughout the winter season!



Our Limited Edition Winter Hat Kits come in two options.

THE KIT INCLUDES: 
• 3 colors of North Bay Fiber Heritage: One full skein plus two, 20 gram mini skeins - Just the right amount to knit the hat! Colors are Marsh (C1), Natural (C2), and Chinook (C3).

The scent is called "Knitting Warms My Heart" and it is a blend of cranberry and cinnamon - A wonderful, warm and cozy scent for the holidays.

We wanted to knit a striped sweater to showcase our NBF Seasonal Fall Palette and we thought the Sunday Funday sweater by Jill Zielinski / @knitterella was a great fit. We added 6 stripes to showcase the 6 limited edition colors of the fall palette. We love the result!

If you’d like to knit yourself a Sunday Funday like this, the yarn specs for the sizes are as follows:

SIZES: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)
Suggested ease range: 10-15” / 25-37.5 cm of positive ease. Sample shown is a size 2 and worn with approx 14” of positive ease at the bust.

The dust has settled since being gone to last weekend's trunk show at Spun Ann Arbor. The show was a big success and a lot of fun. We want to send out a special thank you to anyone that came out to support us. We appreciate you!
For last weekend's show we packaged up some super-cute In A Flurry Hat Kits to have on hand. These little kits are a great grab and go knit. A great hat to knit for yourself, give as a gift, or even purchase the kit to give to the knitter in your life!

The Love Me Or Weave Me cowl is the newest design from our good friend Dori Kershner. It's a  very cute and clever design knit in our Elemental Sport and we will have KITS!

 

This stockinette, a-line shaped cowl has a double strand of yarn woven through the stitches creating the illusion of colorwork within a very simple project! Worked from the bottom up in the springy-soft Elemental yarn from North Bay Fiber, This simple piece is embellished with an I-cord bind off and a sprinkle of fringe along the edge.
