WORKSHOP: Discover Thrumming!
🧵 Thrumming Workshop – Slippers or Mittens
Back by popular demand! Our Thrumming Class was such a hit last fall that we just had to bring it back. This time, you’ll have the option to knit either the cozy Thrumbelina Slippers or a pair of classic Easy Mittens with Thrumbs—both perfect projects for chilly Michigan winters.
Discover the timeless art of thrumming—a knitting technique that incorporates soft, insulating roving into your project for unmatched warmth and fluffiness. Thrums, short lengths of unspun roving (we’ll use pencil roving), are worked into your knitting to create a plush, cloud-like lining. Perfect for mittens, slippers, hats, and more, thrumming adds both style and functionality to your handmade items.
Julie will lead this workshop and guide you through the process of creating and working with thrums. You’ll make enough progress in class to confidently finish your project at your own pace.
