Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit? Well, here's your chance! Join our class and learn the basics of knitting, from casting on to binding off. Led by our experienced instructor, Jane, we keep our group small, providing personalized instruction and ensuring no one gets lost along the way.  

 

 


In this class, you will:
• Learn to cast on and bind off
• Learn the knit and purl stitches
• Create a small sampler using knit and purl stitch combinations (stockinette, seed, and ribbing)

By the end of this course, you’ll be ready to confidently begin your next project!

Format: 2 sessions (total of 4 class hours)

Schedule:
📍 In-person at North Bay Fiber
3737 N Huron Rd, Pinconning, Michigan

🗓 Dates: Saturday afternoons — September 19th and 26th
🕕 Time: Noon – 2:00 PM

Duration: 2 weeks (2 sessions)
Total Instruction Time: 4 hours

 


Materials Needed

• 1 skein DK weight yarn (heavy DK/Light Worsted)
(We recommend BayHouse DK)
• US 7 (16") circular knitting needles

Instructor: Jane Halstead
Class Size: Maximum 4 students (minimum 3 to run class)
Suggested Age: 10 and up (children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult)

 

 

Class Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair while also honoring the time and commitment of our instructors.

Standard Classes (North Bay Fiber Instruction):

  • 72+ hours in advance: Full refund
  • 36–72 hours before class: 50% refund (issued as store credit)
  • Less than 36 hours or no-shows: No refund

Special Guest Classes (Visiting Instructors):
Due to the limited nature of these events and the commitment involved in bringing in out-of-town instructors, a different policy applies:

  • 72+ hours in advance: 30% of the class fee will be issued as store credit only
  • Less than 72 hours before class or no-shows: No refunds or credits

Special guest classes are one-time events with limited seating, and cancellations directly impact both the instructor and other participants.

Additional Notes:

  • Store credits are issued as North Bay Fiber e-gift cards and can be used in-store or online
  • Registrations are non-transferable and cannot be moved to another class
  • If North Bay Fiber needs to cancel a class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued
