🧶 New Class: Learn to Read Your Knitting

Most knitters run into problems when they are not able to “read their knitting”—that is, they can’t recognize where they are in a pattern by simply looking at the stitches on the needles or in the fabric below the needles.

🔹 How do you tell where you are when you’ve put your knitting down in the middle of row?
🔹 Can you tell how many rows you’ve knitted since the last increase or decrease?
🔹 How do you know what type of increase or decrease was worked?

In this class, you’ll examine how an assortment of stitches looks in a piece of knitting and how those stitches are represented in charts.

🧵 Instructions will be provided for knitting a 42-row swatch of sample stitches and an accompanying chart for your reference.

📌 Requirements:
Must know how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off, and follow row-by-row knitting instructions.
Completion of swatch is required prior to class as it will be used in the class to demonstrate the “reading” of your knitting.

Removable stitch markers or safety pins, pen, paper

  • Saturday, May 10th – 10:30 AM to 1 PM

  • Wednesday, May 14th – 5 PM to 7:30 PM

  • Friday, May 16th – 10:30 AM to 1 PM

We understand that life happens, and sometimes plans change! If you need to cancel your knitting class reservation, please let the shop know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone else.

  • Cancellations 48+ hours in advance: You’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule within 30 days.
  • Cancellations within 24-48 hours: A 50% refund or rescheduling (if space allows).
  • No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours: Unfortunately, we can’t offer a refund, as your reserved spot could have gone to another participant.

Since class sizes are limited, last-minute cancellations mean lost opportunities for others and impact the time and materials we've set aside. We appreciate your understanding and support in keeping things fair for everyone!

If we cancel due to weather or unforeseen circumstances you’ll have an option to receive a full refund or to reschedule within 30 days.
